Business Controller takes ownership of the corporate cost base and strengthens financial reporting, processes, and business partnering across Corporate Functions. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate reporting, improving data quality, and building scalable finance practices that support growth and IPO readiness, while bringing clarity to financial decision-making and alignment across teams.
This role is based in Espoo, Finland.
What will I be doing?
Extend the responsibilities of a business controller with a strong focus on financial accuracy, scalability, and long-term process improvement
Act as a financial business partner for Corporate Functions (HR, IT, Finance, Legal, G&A), supporting decision-making and cost transparency
Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial reporting in line with IFRS and local GAAP
Own budgeting and rolling forecasting processes for the corporate cost base
Provide clear cost analysis, variance insights, and identify optimization opportunities
Support headcount planning and cost control across functions
Develop and maintain cost allocation models to improve financial transparency
Strengthen processes, documentation, and internal controls to support scalability and IPO readiness
Drive improvements in data quality, reporting, and financial systems
Build alignment across teams by communicating financial insights clearly and helping stakeholders reach informed decisions
Take ownership of initiatives that improve financial visibility, efficiency, and trust across the company
Support hiring by contributing to interviews and helping build a strong finance team
What skills do I need?
5+ years of experience in financial controlling, business controlling, or FP&A, either in-house or in audit/advisory
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial control principles (accruals, OPEX, cost allocations)
Experience with budgeting, rolling forecasting, and headcount-driven financial planning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Experience building and improving scalable finance processes, internal controls, and financial reporting
Ability to perform cost analysis, develop cost allocation models, and work with multi-entity structures
Confident stakeholder management and business partnering skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial topics to non-finance audiences
Experience in fast-growing or scale-up environments; IPO or SOX readiness experience is a plus
Proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and data-driven finance environments
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
High ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives independently
